Chelsea Technologies Group (CTG) is delighted to once again sponsor & exhibit at the next biennial conference of the Challenger Society for Marine Science to be held at Newcastle University,  on 10-13 September 2018.

On display  will be the well established Act2/FastOcean multi-wavelength fluorometer-based systems for in situ and laboratory-based assessment of phytoplankton physiology and GPP.

Also on display will be the low cost Lux family of miniature digital fluorometers optimized to monitor Chlorophyll a, Turbidity, Hydrocarbon, CDOM, Phycoerythrin Cyanobacteria, Phycocyanin Cyanobacteria and many dyes including Rhodamine and Fluorescein.

CTG has a long history of designing sensors for hydrocarbon monitoring - specially designed to  monitor crude and refined oil from coastal margins to deep ocean - these will also be on display plus a selection of our acoustics products.

Also on display will be the highly successful FastBallast Compliance Monitor - capable of determining the compliance of treated ballast water at the IMO D2 & USCG Discharge Standards. Delegates will also have an opportunity to learn of another of our Green Ship offerings, the Sea Sentry - a compliance monitor for wash water from exhaust gas scrubber systems.

Challenger Conference 2018

What is the Challenger Conference all about?

Challenger Conference 2018 promises to provide a fantastic showcase of marine science, covering all areas of ocean research. The official conference programme will commence with an ice-breaker event on the evening of the 10th September.  This is then followed by a three-day lecture and poster programme and includes a conference dinner at 'The Boiler Shop' which dates back to the 1829 and was a focal part of the Stephenson Co locomotive works which built Stephenson's Rocket.

Alongside the formal conference programme there are also a range special interest groups and community meetings taking place during and after the conference, details of which will be available leading up to the conference.
